Gear up readers-this weekend of events sounds like a food-lovers dream! Tickets are now on sale for March 20th -22nd and the Seventh Annual New Jersey Wine & Food Festival !
I can’t believe today marks one whole year since I launched Behind the Plates. I can’t begin to describe what a fun and rewarding experience it has been so far. I started the blog as a selfish way to incorporate my passion for food back into my everyday life again. There was a small hope that others might appreciate it as well. However, I truly did not know what to expect. I decided that as long as I was accomplishing my own personal goal of celebrating my love of all things food than it would be a worthwhile journey.
I know you all love getting full notice for upcoming foodie related events. Here’s one I know most North Jersey locals will get excited about, Montclair Restaurant Week is on it’s way! The Montclair Rotary Club and Taste of Montclair shared the following details of the upcoming week event:
I’m keeping up with my Mexican breakfast theme this week with today’s easy recipe for Scrambled Heuvos Rancheros.
Sometimes you just need comfort food. Cold winter nights always entice me to crave warm, stick to your ribs type meals. And while I do sometimes completely splurge; I generally try to be a little more health conscious by replicating my favorite splurge meals with a healthier version.
BTP Readers-I have some exciting New Jersey Wine news to share with all of you. Gary’s Wine & Marketplace, a specialty wine and spirits chain, opened its fourth store on December 16, in Nelson’s Corner Shopping Center in Hillsborough, NJ. There is currently a temporary pop-up shop that will remain open while the permanent 9,000 sq. ft. Marketplace location is constructed out in the same shopping plaza.
I teamed up with a great group of bloggers to bring you a special $50 Amazon Giftcard Giveaway! Just simply enter below for your chance at the prize!
For anyone who has not taken a mid-year break to a warm, sunny destination-I highly recommend it. It’s the perfect thing to chase those winter blues away (at least for a few days before its back to reality) and recharge. Last month I accomplished two traveling firsts; visited Jamaica and stayed at my first all-inclusive resort. My fiancé and I had just got engaged and although we planned this trip eight months ago, long before we knew we would have something to celebrate, it ended up being the perfect little “engagement moon” to revel in our big relationship milestone.
It’s officially cold and flu season…*cough cough, sniff sniff* I thought I was making it by this season with no cold symptoms on the horizon. That was until the day before I had to return to work after my two week winter vacation. All of a sudden I was achey and all around under the weather. Maybe my subconscious was running wild with the thought of returning to my desk…but whatever the reason I still was feeling pretty crummy.
