It’s almost Turkey Time!!! Thanksgiving is probably my favorite holiday of the year. My family’s traditions and large family gatherings each year to celebrate has always held a special place in my heart. I love the concept of taking special time out with family and friends to be grateful and thankful for all that we have. I love that the day kicks off the holiday season. One of our family traditions is to listen to our first Christmas song and watch a classic Christmas movie as a family after the big meal. And of course, I can’t overlook or forget that I absolutely LOVE the holiday feast. There’s really nothing I dislike about Thanksgiving.
I was asked a question recently and it really got my thinking. It was something along the lines of, “How do you come up with your recipes?”. It’s a very valid question for a reader to ask a food blogger and it sparked me to want to share a little more on this topic.
We all know the sad truth that summer will be gone before we know it. I’m the first to admit I am no where near ready. In a matter of weeks I’ll be counting the days until next memorial day. But there is comfort that with Fall comes beautiful trees, pumpkin everything and slow cooked meals! In preparation for those crisp days ahead I’m giving all of you a great infographic! It will become your go-to guide for all things crockpot. Learn the settings, get some prep and cooking “hacks” and even get tips on how to clean your cooker.
I thought this was a helpful infographic for all you. It breaks down all the classic cutlery with when and how they should properly be used. It even gives some helpful cleaning and care tips. Print it out, bookmark it, or memorize this knife knowledge for your future cooking adventures.
I love to host events and dinner parties. Granted, I may run around like a chicken with its head cut off while prepping for them but, that’s part of the thrill. It may be my roots in the hospitality industry that have spurred my desire to be in the “business” of pleasing people. However; I truly enjoy it! (Just ask any of my friends) I will go above and beyond to try and pull off the perfect evening. This can range from putting together my annual Christmas fundraiser for charity where I’ve done themes including a wine and cheese pairing, ugly sweater party, and this past year I created a Christmas “photo booth”; all the way down to a simple dinner party with our neighbors where elaborate 3 course menus are developed in preparation.
I have always loved giving gifts more than receiving them. There is nothing I love more than spending the time to find the perfect gift that has heart and meaning behind it for whomever the special someone may be on the receiving end.
