Crisp Restaurant Starts Falafel Fever

I’m always on the lookout for new food spots to try. Most times I search the internet, read up on yelp, or get recommendations from friends to make my selection. In this instance the restaurant came to me. What I mean is the restaurant, Crisp, started following me on Twitter (my personal account) and challenged me to come in and try what they had to offer (Just to note-they did not offer to pay; they simply were a new restaurant looking to build up customers using social media).

This Twitter “ask” was followed up with my usual research on the internet to check out the menu etc. After reviewing I was instantly curious in trying them out. They are a vegetarian casual quick-service restaurant that features Mediterranean type offerings (predominantly falafel and salads). They market themselves as being green and fresh.

I had never had falafel. I honestly didn’t even know what it was, but I wanted to try it. For all of you out there that are falafel naïve like I was…it is a fried ball that is typically composed of ground chick peas. Translation=Delicious!

The menu made it look so exciting. They have traditional pairings like cucumber and tomato salads with hummus and tahini. But they also provide distinctive offerings such as the “Africa” which includes a habanero peanut sauce, sweet potato medley and greens or the “Europa” which features pesto, goat cheese and roasted red peppers.

I have since been there not just once, but at least 6 times in the past few months. They have become a regular lunch spot in my repertoire.

Every time I have gone my experience has been positive. The restaurant itself is always clean and bright. The staff has been friendly and informative when I asked questions and the food is bright and crisp (Pun intended).

You may be wondering where you can find a Crisp Restaurant to try it out?? The one I have frequented is in Denville, NJ however; they have a handful of locations around NJ and NYC for you to try! Here is the link to the list of their locations: http://www.eatatcrisp.com/locations

I’m always up for trying something new and I’m happy that they sought me out as a customer because they now have a regular!

…all for the love of the dish
