December Foodie Happenings Around the State

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The sparkling lights, festive décor, and of course lots and LOTS of holiday food. Get your winter jackets, mittens and hats ready to go out into the cold for some of these awesome festive events around the state this month.

December 5th-6th – Terhune Orchards Kick off the Season Weekend; Princeton, NJ: It’s your all in one stop for Christmas wreaths, trees, santa visits and even holiday gifts! December 5th-13th – The 24th Annual Gingerbread Wonderland; Morris Plains, NJ: The Frelinghuysen Arboretum welcomes all to explore the land of edible masterpieces. December 5th, 12th, & 19th – Christmas Candlelight House Tours; Cape May, NJ: Cape May is hosting a festive self-guided tour of the beautiful Victorian homes, it’s so well known for, all decorated for the holiday season. There will be strolling carolers and musicians and hospitality pit stops with warm beverages and baked treats. December 6th– Hoppy Holiday Beer Bazaar at Flying Fish Brewery; Somerdale, NJ: What can be better that browsing through arts and crafts with specialty craft beer in hand? From 12-5PM the Flying Fish Brewery is doing just that! Did I mention that most of those handmade items the vendors will be selling will be beer related? December 6th and December 13th – Tomasello Winery Opera Galas; Hammonton, NJ: The opera galas only happen 4 times a year at the winery. It’s a matinee event that showcases esteemed vocal guest appearances. It also happens to be paired with fine wine and a delicious four course menu. December 11th – Murder under the Mistletoe at Renault Winery; Egg Harbor City, NJ: Who doesn’t love a good murder mystery dinner show? Especially when it’s all about Christmas and those “underpaid employees at Yule Tide Toys” ? December  12th – Sinatra’s Centennial Birthday Party ; Hoboken, NJ: Celebrate 100 years of Frank Sinatra with an extravagant birthday bash hosted in the town it all began! December 13th – Slow Food Indoor Winter Farmer’s Market; Maplewood, NJ: It may be cold outside but that’s not stopping local farms from stocking us up on locally produced foods! A $3 admission fee will be donated to Slow Food’s Northern NJ’s school and community garden program (so it’s a great cause). December 20th – Laurita Winery Santa Brunch; New Eygpt, NJ: Laurita has a long list of holiday events to excited about (you should check out their full calendar) But, one of the highlights of their December list is the Santa Brunch. Branches Catering will be serving up a full service lunch affair at the winery.
