November Foodie Happenings Around NJ 2015

Hello Everyone,

The chill is starting to creep into the air but, that isn’t slowing down all the events around the state! This month is all about the booze. At least you know the events will be keeping you warm 🙂

Take a look at all the upcoming wine and beer events that are around the corner. With some fun foodie twists there is sure to be something for everyone on the list.

November 5th-8th– Cape May Restaurant Weekend; Cape May, NJ: A full weekend featuring $35, 3 course menus at some of the best eateries in town. Each restaurant will showcase some of their featured menu in this special foodie event. November 6th– New Jersey Harvest Wine Festival; Short Hills, NJ: This annual event is always a great way to celebrate passion for wine. With over 150 wines to taste from, there is something for everyone’s palate. November 7th – Beer, BBQ, and Bacon Showdown; Stanhope, NJ: You get to be the judge of the best craft beer and dish at this event! Enjoy an afternoon of great music, pitmaster eats, and hearty brews. November 7th – Food Truck Farm Fest; East Windsor, NJ: Here’s a fun twist to the food truck festival lineup, a NJ farm incorporation. This event benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project will feature tons of NJ produce, some of the state’s finest food trucks; as well as agricultural seminars and live music. November 7th-8th– JG’s Winery Soup and Sip Weekend; Colts Neck, NJ: This event is right up my alley! Keep warm on a fall afternoon by tasting some comforting warm soups to be paired with JG’s wine. November 8th – Kimchi Smoke BBQ and Empanada Mania Popup; Bergenfield, NJ: Word has spread that two New Jersey favorites are joining forces for a special pop-up dining experience. Join in on the feast from 1PM-7PM on this Sunday to try out the special menus from Empanada Mania and Kimchi Smoke. You’ll find specials like Pumpkin white chocolate cakepanadas (Empanada Mania) and the RFC Chonut: Deep fried Chicken thighs in ramen crust, topped with Sweet Gochu glaze, Korean Slaw on a Glazed Donut (Kimchi Smoke). November 12th – Game Dinner at Restaurant Latour; Hamburg, NJ: Executive Chef Anthony Bucco has created a five-course menu featuring quintessential game ingredients like wood duck, wild hare and venison. Resort Mixologist Stephen Thomas and Sommelier Susanne Lerescu have created an unusual pairing for the menu. The menu including beverage pairings is $185, tax and gratuity are additional. November 14th-15th– Alstede Farms Pie Tasting Weekend; Chester, NJ: Not sure of what delicious pies to order for all your holiday parties? Alstede Farms is giving you the chance to come out and taste your options! November 14th-15th– Late Fall Laurita Food Trucks; New Egypt, NJ: The chilly air isn’t slowing this winery down! Their acclaimed food truck festivals are now extending into a Late Fall event! Get a seat by the campfire and warm up with NJ food truck eats and wine right from the property. November 16th – Forks & Corks (A Food, Wine and Beer Tasting); Spring Lake, NJ: The Mill Restaurant will be hosting this event’s third year. This cocktail hour style event will allow guests to sample unique tastings from local restaurants and liquor and wine distributors.  $75 will get you a night full of food and fun. *Note-You must be 21 or older to attend. November 20th – Beer Pairings Event with Garret Oliver; Florham Park, NJ: Calling all Brooklyn Brewery fans!! The brewmaster from Brooklyn Brewery (Who also happens to be a James Beard Award Winner) will be the special guest host of a special 5 course dinner and beer pairing at the Park Avenue Club. Garrett will walk guests through the experience with his own tasting notes, insights, and knowledge. November 22nd– The Chocolate Expo; Secaucus, NJ: The Meadowlands Expo Center is hosting the annual chocolate expo this month. If you’re a passionate chocolate lover, there is no better event out there. Mingle with some of the premier distributors, chocolate makers, specialty shops etc. in the country. You’ll get to learn, taste, and see (exhibits) more about the delicious treat. There will also be no shortage of local wine vendors, entertainers, and other curated merchants at the event. November 27th -29th– Holiday Wine Trail Weekend; Various Locations, NJ: NJ wineries are giving you a way to skip the shopping crowds but still have a weekend of fun! Over the course of these three days, wineries across the state will be doing special sales, wine releases, entertainment and more. Some wineries will even be giving away a complimentary grape vine wreath or ornament.
