A few weeks ago I took an excursion to Montclair to one of their many restaurants. I’ve said this over the course of writing my blog but, Montclair is a mecca for good food. The problem is, so is Morristown, which where I live. While I continue to try and conquer my own town I very rarely get out and explore others. I took a trip to visit an old friend was a great excuse to get out of town for the night and explore more of Montclair.


Laboratorio, Montclair adds Lunch and Small Plate Menu

I have an exciting NJ restaurant update. Laboratorio Restaurant in Montclair, NJ. They have announced that they will now offer lunch on Thursdays and Fridays from 12pm to 4pm in addition to their regular dinner service Tuesday through Saturday.


2015 NJ Farmer’s Markets-The Full List

It’s the most wonderful time of the year…farmer’s market season!!! My weekends will soon be complete with my pit stop to the local market to get my weekly goodies. I subscribe to the Morristown farmers market because it happens to be right up the street. I’m treated to farm fresh fruits and vegetables directly from their sources, fresh baked breads, and chicken straight from the poultry farm; along with other occasional splurges like crisp pickles, homemade pierogis, and gourmet cheeses.  It’s a food lover’s dream.


April Foodie Happenings Around NJ

Hooray for April…it means that Spring is finally here! And although it may not fully seem like it yet (It actually snowed in my town last night) we will see warmer days in the very near future. This is exciting for a number of reasons one being, outdoor activities. You’ll see on this month’s lengthy list of happenings that the food trucks that hibernated all winter are back in full force, wineries are moving events to the outside, as well as fairgrounds kicking off their warm weather schedules.


March Foodie Happenings Around NJ

Can you believe it’s March already? I know I can speak for most of us by saying that I am very patiently waiting for warm weather to return.  I’m hoping that March gives us a few days to get back to enjoying the great outdoors (And selfishly my fingers are crossed that if those days appear that they are on the weekend!!).

A recent girls night out brought me to Montclair for dinner. This North Jersey town has a vibrant restaurant scene and there are so few that I have been able to visit. With a recommendation from one of my friends who frequents the area we settled on going to Salute Brick Oven Bistro for dinner.

A Taste of the NEW De Novo European Pub; Montclair, NJ

This past Sunday marked the grand opening for De Novo European Pub in Montclair, NJ. Restaurateur Demetri Malki became the undertaker of renovating the Upper Montclair train station to transform it into its current chic, casual and rustic state for his new venture. His vision for the restaurant was to be styled after “The family-oriented casual pubs of Europe… Guests can expect a recognizable and comforting menu with house-made breads, small plates, charcuterie, flatbreads, salads, burgers, house-made pastas, entrées and late-night bar bites created and inspired by De Novo’s executive chef, Marika Villik.”
