Valentine’s Day is around the corner and whether you are part of a couple or a fun-loving single ready to find a special someone; you don’t want to be sitting on your couch drowning yourself in store bought chocolates when the holiday rolls around.

Wine Lovers:
Many of the New Jersey Wineries across the state will be participating in the Wine and Chocolate-Wine Trail Weekend which runs February 8th-9th and February 15th-16th. Beneduce Vineyards has limited tickets left for their 2nd Tuxedo Dinner on February 14th. This black and white semi-formal attire event will feature a special 5 course meal paired with the vineyard’s finest wines. Seats are $150 a person. Call for reservations at (908) 996-DUCE.

Dance Enthusiasts:
Sail off on Valentine’s Day with Spirit of New Jersey evening cruises. Based out of Jersey City, this special cruise will set sail on the evenings of February 14th and 15th. New York City’s premier school of Argentine Tango is hosting a unique event for those who love good food, wine and dance (All Argentinean of course!) This live performance, interactive, and delicious event will be held both Thursday, February 13th and Friday, February 14th. If you pay in advance it’s $100 a couple.

Foodies:

Blue Morel in the Westin Governor Morris in Morristown, NJ will feature a four course Valentine’s Day menu for $89. The restaurant was voted in the top 10 new restaurants in the country in 2012. The culinary creations will not disappoint. (My boyfriend took me here last Valentine’s Day and my meal blew me away!)

If you want to make a morning or afternoon of your Valentine’s Day date take your sweetheart to Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. Take a stroll through their gardens and admire some of the 270 sculptures they display. Afterwards, head over to their restaurant Rats and enjoy their  Valentine’s Day tasting menu or Sunday Brunch.

The award-winning chef, Daniel Bouloud, has a myriad of restaurants around NYC. If you haven’t been to one of his establishments, you are missing out! Singles:
Gear up for a New York City Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt. Get a group together or sign up yourself and meet new friends. All you’ll need is a smart phone and a little adventure. Does manicures, massages and matchmaking sound up your alley? Then you need to get tickets for the Chick Flick Guy and Girl Mixer at LQ Lounge in NYC. You’ll be indulged with a spa treatment while learning about the dating myths that can often be seen in Chick Flicks. Don’t forget you’ll also be mixing it up with potential matches!

Getaways:

Boston:
The Liberty Hotel in Boston is heating things up by offering two steamy couple packages for the holiday weekend. Washington DC:

The Washington DC International Wine Festival will be in town February 13th -15th.  Master class tastings, live entertainment, and the festival marketplace will keep you busy each day. Also, don’t forget to watch or join in the Cupid’s Undie Run on February 15th that circles the Capitol Building to raise money for Children’s Tumor Foundation while you are down there!
