Hello Readers! Thanks for visiting Behind the Plates. Here’s a little background on how this all started.
Behind the Plates is a food and travel blog founded by me, Missy Raho. I was born and raised in New Jersey and I’m currently working as a Marketing Manager. I started Behind the Plates as an outlet for my passion with all things food and travel. What started with a trip to Paris when I was 11 flourished into a deep longing to explore the world and the best food along the way. After returning from a senior study abroad to Italy, I realized I’d gained a deeper appreciation and understanding for food culture. This sparked even more intrigue into the hospitality industry where I worked several years.
I started Behind the Plates as a means to share my experiences with food culture, adventures abroad and locally and my exploration through gastronomy. Since launching in 2013, Behind the Plates has been dedicated to inspiring the girl on the go through curated recipes, travel guides and lifestyle inspirations.
